Help, I can't play music!
Or listen to the sound track on a DVD. The built-in microphone on my ThinkPad is wired on, and the sounds in the room play through the speaker. If I don't plug headphones into the speaker jack I get feedback. I'm not sure how the computer got to be this way. It started a few days ago. I was messing with Polderbits, a sound recorder and editor that uses the microphone. I've quit and restarted Polderbits, quit and restarted the computer, visited every Control Panel I can think of and still can't listen to audio. The email program doesn't beep when I have mail. This sucks. What did I do, and how do I fix it? I want to watch the last half of American Splendor. Hellllp! Windows XP. IBM ThinkPad T40. # Posted by Dave Winer on 6/19/04; 9:51:16 PM - --
