Is there yet a good MP3 player that connects through USB and is relatively easy to operate and relatively inexpensive? I see lots of devices at Target, but have no idea how easy they are to use. It would be especially cool if NPR published their schedule through RSS.

Follow-up question. Do any of the players also have the ability to record MP3s? I'm thinking of voice stuff, not quite as beautiful as the stuff Chris does.

This morning I added a feature in the Harvard weblog server that will probably be provided as part of Manila after it has been tested.

The feature: When someone posts a comment on your weblog, your notification list will receive an email containing information about the post.

Previously this feature was only available for discussion group posts, not comments.

It works for comments hosted for Radio UserLand as well.

To configure, click on Prefs in the Editors Only menu, then choose Editorial (the second item) and scroll down to the Email Notification section. Be sure that notification is turned on for new discussion group messages. (Note to Jake, it's probably a good idea to come up with a new pref just for this, default true.)

This feature is only available on blogs.law.harvard.edu at this time.
